For metalsmithing can you use a plastic hot pot for pickle?

  1. Better to use a Pyrex glass container or hot pot with ceramic liner. Needs to be a dedicated container for pickle, never use it for food purposes. The pickle temperature should be 120-140°F (49-60°C) range…hot, not boiling.

  2. You could use a small crock pot, I use an old coffee maker my husband cut off the top of the water holder, only left the burner part intact. I put the pickle in the glass pot, Worked a treat. But the only problem I had with this is the burner plate rusted out. Now I use a mini crock pot.
