Found My Jewelry Path

My name is Cheryl Clarke with Answer Your Dream Jewelry. I design inspirational jewelry for dreamers. I just launched a website a few weeks ago and I’m still excited about that…I have a website! Me!

Answer Your Dream Jewelry – we all have divine gifts to serve the world

I was so nervous when I launched it. If there is anyone out there who may be afraid to get online, I would say take some deep breaths and jump. It’s so worth it just to see your designs online and to have people get excited about what you do.

Show up fierce

I would also say not to allow perfectionism to hold you back from getting online. I’ve goofed up a few picture postings, where the pictures would post sideways even when they looked okay on my screen. I got some online support to figure out the glitch. It’s all a work in progress. Even life.

I started designing beaded jewelry in 1999 and then branched into stamping last year. During my jewelry journey I would go to the craft stores and read the magazines. I would see the stamped jewelry and knew that stamping would be my path someday.

Right now I specialize in copper, which is really interesting. After I started working with copper I read that copper is the metal associated with the zodiac sign Libra.

That’s pretty cool! I have done some stamping on sterling silver as well, and will continue to branch out slowly.

I hope you all are enjoying your jewelry adventures.
Thank you.

  1. Lovely encouraging necklaces, Cheryl, and nice to see how you incorporated your passion for metal stamping! And I so agree with you about not allowing perfectionism to hold you back from getting online (or from doing anything else with your jewelry). Mistakes are usually fixable – and most folks don’t notice the mistakes anyway. 🙂

  2. Thank you, Rena! 🙂 I know how perfectionism can be paralyzing. Along the way I’ve reached out to several jewelry designers that I admire and asked them questions about starting a business, starting a website, or getting on Facebook. And they all said the same thing: “Just freaking do it!” So no matter what, even if I still hesitate a bit, I have to let go and just do it. You’re right, most folks may not notice mistakes, but if they do, that’s okay too. We’re all human! And thank you Rena for creating this space for all of us. I’ve been following you for years and I so appreciate what you do, and the way you do it!

  3. Love, love, love the personalization in these pieces and the meanings behind them, which can be VERY powerful for people undergoing life transitions, suffering from chronic illnesses, grieving and needing a reason to believe. Plus, they make über meaningful gifts.

I am truly inspired by your work, Cheryl. Thank you so much for sharing.

  4. Love that you make inspirational jewelry. I have tried stamping but am not precise enough. I think it takes a special talent, like yours to make the jewelry look professional. I will check out your websites. Thanks for sharing and taking the leap.

  5. Sheila Meador says:

You did a great job on these, and I like the warmth that is conveyed combining copper and encouraging words.

  6. Love your designs and love your website, Cheryl! Congratulations on taking a giant leap of faith. (p.s. – you’re beautiful!)

  7. Congratulations Cheryl! I’m very happy for you. Good luck with you new website!!!

  8. Beautiful stamped necklaces! I have tried it a few times but have not been successful- you work is fantastic. Love the sayings you have selected, particularly the first two, you don’t see these to often- they make great statements.

  9. Thanks for the encouragement to find our niche and to GO for it!! I have let perfectionism hold me back for far too long. Hereeeeeee goessssss! Hugs and blessings to you!

  10. Cheryl,
Congrats! They are beautiful. I agree with that ‘go for it’ attitude which is how I started my online store 2+ years ago, I jumped in with both feet. I also think a lot has to do with why we do what we do. I also believe the saying that ‘if you believe, you’ll achieve’. Blessing you with continued success.

  11. Thank you, Elizabeth! It’s so exciting to know that you’re inspired by my designs…that really makes my day. And it makes my journey that much more awesome! I truly hope that my work helps people to believe — believe in themselves, life and maybe even a little magic. 😉

  12. Hi Em! Thank you. When I started stamping, I was not that great at it. My letters were not straight — at all! It takes a lot of practice. (And you know what helps? Tape. I use painter’s tape and then line up my stamps against the edge of the tape.) The cool thing about hand-stamping is that we’re human, so the human-ness goes into the stamping, too. I recently stamped BELIEVE on a piece of copper and the ‘I’ was a little higher than the rest. At first, I thought, “Drat!” But then I thought, “Oh! ‘I BELIEVE’! Get it? 🙂 The ‘I’ in BELIEVE is the most important letter. So that’s not a mistake after all! Keep practicing, especially if it brings you joy.

  13. Hi Sheila,
Thank you! I love copper. And it feels good to put encouraging words out into the world. Maybe this is part of my purpose? 🙂

  14. Hi Joanne,
Thank you for the compliment. 🙂 I appreciate you. And I love the name of your jewelry — High Vibe Jewelry. High vibes rock!

  15. Hi Zoraida!
Thank you so much for your guidance. You are awesome. 🙂

  16. Hi Susan,
Thank you! Sometimes I stamp what I most need to hear. Especially on those days when self-doubt lingers! And then I think that someone in the world may need the same message and I start stamping away. 🙂

  17. Hey Deb!
Thank you! When you take that leap of faith, be sure to say, “Weeeeeeee!” It makes it so much more fun. 🙂 Yay for you…you can do it! Please let me know how it goes. I’m cheering for you!

  18. Hi Joybelle!
Thank you so much. Yes, “believe and achieve” is an amazing affirmation. That “believe” part is so important! What’s awesome is that each time one of us answers our dream, we become an inspiration for someone else to believe that they can do it, too.

Wishing you much success on your journey as well. 🙂

  19. Rena,

I’ve subscribed to your newsletter for over a year, but never commented because I felt, as a novice, I had little to contribute. This issue inspired me to write to thank you for creating such an uplifting forum for sharing positive energy as well as jewelry-making and business tips!

Thank you for your post. You do lovely work and your website is lovely. I especially like the About Me section. Your jewelry and your site are imbued with your positive spirit and passion for life!

Blessings to everyone. Be fierce! ?

  20. Hi Debra!
Thank you so much. A funny thing about my ‘About Me’ section. I had written it all out and sent it to a friend to read. They suggested rearranging the flow, and I just wasn’t sure what to do. In truth, I felt a little down and ended up sitting on it for a month before launching my site. Then, I sent it to another friend, who in turn sent it to her sister. Her sister (a magician!) took the exact same words, cut out some of the fluff, and rearranged the flow. When I read it, I WAS EXCITED TO BE ME! HA! 🙂 I was thrilled to post it. I’m thankful to have lots of support. Thank you for your encouraging words, Debra!

  21. I love your designs and website. You seem to have created a brand that is totally YOU!! Maybe raise the prices? They seem a bit low to me. Good luck!
