Flock of Swallows Necklace

by Debra Lowe.

This piece was a plan in my mind for a while. My dilemma was finding all the right antique swallow pins. It took several years, but the hunt is so fun.

Then I had the perfect vintage filigree stamping from another disabled brooch.

Once I soldered the flock in place, the finish went well. I love how it turned out, I may start a menagerie faze.

  1. I love how the varied sizes on your birds give the impression that they are in flight and coming for their landing. Very pretty.

  2. Thanks Terrie, that is what took me so long…I had the vision, then had to wait for the birds, thanks much!

  3. Just gorgeous, Debra! I love the light, airy elements you combined with the swallows – the openwork filigree metal, the translucent irridescent beads, the bead chain. It all comes together in a beautiful impression of flight. Thanks for sharing your artistry with us!

Wow! The Necklace looks lovely Debra. Very attractive and delicate. You sure do have a lot of patients, but it surely paid off. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Thanks much Khurhid, as do most people I have patience for what I love…not so much for things I don’t~
I try to draw a quick sketch when something floats into my mind, if I don’t it flies away like my birds, thanks again~
