Felted Wrist Cuff

Felted wrist cuff made from a sweater arm

Felted wrist cuff made from a sweater arm

I made this wrist cuff by cutting the arm of a wool sweater.

I then had to cut to make it smaller, then I felted it together, which is the solid white back of the piece.

Next I just felted on some flowers and a white border around the edge, and a design on the white solid part.

I had been saving wool sweaters to make into a felted purse, but this idea came to me.

Thank you.

Cool idea and awesome that you repurposed a sweater for it. I like the soft edges felting gave your design. I would wear this, and so would my daughter!

Stretchiness?
by: Susan

So did you felt it before felting on the flowers? And how stretchy is it? Is it easy to put on without any clasp-type thing, or do you use a closer?

Hi Susan, they are very stretchy. Some of them that I made I had to cut and sew smaller. I did felt the cuff first, I felted seperate wool on the outside because the sweater had been cut and I didn’t want it to frey. You can just slip them on, but you could make them with a button closure too or something like that.
