Etched Dragon on Brass and Copper Pendant

My daughter Sam, of Tatsushop on Etsy and Artfire, creates wonderful line art and I am fortunate to have her draw images for me on metal sheet.

She drew this wonderful dragon on a large brass circle. I then etched and riveted it onto a piece of copper which I cut from sheet. After some hammering, oxidizing, filing and darkening (around the image), the pendant was finished.

I love the way it turned out and will probably keep it for myself. Sam will have to draw another dragon for me for another pendant.

This is the first piece of jewelry (other than a few custom orders of the same bracelet I’ve made so often I’m tired of it) I’ve made since we moved in July!

Maybe my muse is back? I sure hope so. Almost four months in a funk is too long.
