Mango Moon Collection in Poly Clay

A pair up close
My latest love is creating veneers on raw poly clay and then making jewelry from that. This earrings were made using just such a process. They are my Mango Moon collection.

Here’s the collection
I was looking to create a medium dark blue background and bright pops of color in the form of leaves and vines and orange moons.

The veneer
The base blue color was made by “washing” the raw clay with mixed shades of blue and then using powders to stencil in overlapping geometric shapes in various shades of blue to add richness and depth.
Next I cut leaf and moon shapes from the green and orange clay and placed them over the base clay. I rolled the surface until flat, then sculpted in leaf veins and lines for the final touch.
