Closeup #2

I recently started selling my poly clay earrings to a local store. As we discussed ideas, they suggested I might want to use a “signature” shape that customers connect me with. That idea took a moment to hatch in me.

I think of myself as a create as you go kind of person, most happy when I design whatever comes into my mind. I realized I needed a cohesive collection to present but “shape” wasn’t something I had in mind. More like shape shifter I am. Lol.

The whole collection…so far

The more I pondered it, the more the challenge excited me. I decided that if I were to take on a signature shape, it would be a leaf since I love nature.

This is the collection I created. I hand cut most of the leaf shapes, used a toothpick to create patterns on the leaves, then applied pan pastels and acrylic paints to fill in the patterns.
