Front of bracelet

This is the first time I have ever tried to rivet.

I found a pipe cover and there were three perfect sized divots in the cover.

Once I drilled the holes into the depressions, I carefully lined-up the leather and riveted-away!

Back of bracelet

Not bad for my very first time!

I wanted to make my own clasp, however, clasp making was my next self-taught class.

The only part I wished I did, was took a picture before I finished the piece.

Wider shot, clasp is a regular, store-bought one from Tandy Leather.

  • Patrick, the rustic-looking pipe cover makes a good found-object focal for a leather bracelet. It’s an unusual element on a bracelet, and I imagine people will be interested to know what it is. And I like how the shiny copper rivets stand out against it.

  • Patrick, what a great bracelet. Your riveting looks expert. Nice work. I hope to start learning to rivet one day. It looks like great fun and a good skill to learn.
