After my sister in law taught me how to crochet this necklace, it opened up a whole new world. I wanted something to remind me of our trips to the Gulf in Florida, something light and airy.
I used various semi precious stones, glass beads and fresh water pearls. What was fun, you don’t have to worry that your crochet loops aren’t all the same and everything is random.

I love the airiness and naturalness of this necklace, Colleen! It feels like what a mermaid would catch when she casts her net under the sea. 🙂 Crochet is a wonderful technique in jewelry.
Thank you Rena. I’ve been making jewelry for 5 yrs plus, but never had the confidence to show it on any site. Your site is amazing. I love the way you allow us to show off our creations and how it gave me the confidence to push myself to expand my work and to show it online. Thank you Rena!!!
Colleen, this is really pretty. I’m so glad you made the comment about lacking the confidence to show your work. I too, crochet and have been designing/creating jewelry for a few years but I’m not satisfied enough with the construction to put it out there. You have inspired me. I’m going to set a date, select a piece (or make one) and post it for my birthday in May on my FB page, and look into the guidelines for Rena’s JMJ. I love your necklace!
Colleen and Cora, thank you both so much for your kind words about JMJ! Colleen, I’m enjoying seeing your creations and your process of making them; I like your emphasis on freeform work and how you delight in the process! And Cora, I’m looking forward to seeing the piece you’re planning to share here! 🙂 Thank you, ladies!
Is it possible to contact Colleen? I really like her necklace
