Spring in Watership Down Floral Necklace
This is a fun, colourful, and springy necklace that I recently made for myself.
I was watching the series “Watership Down” at the time (love those bunnies!) 🙂 , and I could imagine these types of colourful flowers blooming there in the spring and summer, around the bunnies’ warren, so I decided to call it my “Spring in Watership Down” necklace. 🙂
The green discs, made from jute or something like it I think, and the beaded chain, came from a necklace that was passed on to me, that I decided to take apart.

True to my nature, I wanted to layer something on top of them.
I still had, in my stash, an assortment of paper flowers that I had purchased on clearance at Michaels quite a while ago, as well as some crocheted ones.
I decided that, although they are less sturdy, the paper flowers seemed to fit with the natural fibres of the discs much better.
I tried some solid coloured ones, but couldn’t settle on any of them, I think because I knew the necklace was for myself, and I already had necklaces in those colour combinations.

I decided that I wanted a multi-coloured one, and chose this combination of flowers.
I also happen to love these satin-finish spring green pearl beads, and wanted to include them too.
This necklace makes me happy.
I’ve worn it already, and it is extremely lightweight, which I love, but still eye-catching with the bright colours.
I hope the bunnies would approve! 🙂
