Sea Glass Crocheted Basket

I created this crocheted wire basket pendant with a tiny steel crochet hook and thin silver wire.

Then I added sea glass pieces I found in Puerto Rico.

Crocheted wire basket pendant with sea glass

Crocheting wire is a challenge, but I love to create unusual bezels and designs this way.

Combining sea glass with crochet is especially unique and something I love to do!

  1. These little baskets are a neat idea, Jean. It reminds me of an ocean catch captured in a fisherman’s net. A great alternative way to use stones without drilling or wire wrapping – especially for tiny pieces of sea glass.

  2. Love your silver crochet-captured sea glass pendant, Jean. I, too, have a collection of sea glass from the NW coast of P.R. And many beautifully colored pieces are too small to drill or wire-wrap effectively; I have enclosed a few in lockets; but I’m tempted to learn to crochet to cage them myself!
    Pretty work!
