What Style of Jewelry to Make?

I started making jewelry after I was given a set of small tools to make my own repairs in my first home.

I used them to repair my jewelry and instantly fell in love with jewelry making.

Fourteen years later, I’m selling part-time at local craft shows.

For the longest time I didn’t know what type of jewelry I wanted to make so I bought all kinds of beads, wire, etc.

For the next 8 years I made all kinds of pieces but was never happy with what I made.

To be able to compete with the pre-made jewelry vendors/companies, I knew I had to make something different than what they were selling or what someone could buy from their local department store.

Finally, after a lot of practice, wire wrapping became my passion.

To this day, I still buy cheap copper wire to practice with.

I always make a pattern of my finished piece, keep notes as to what gauge of wire I used and how long my pieces of wire need to be.

I’m now having a lot of fun and selling some great pieces!
