Close up pendant

I tend to make very casual jewellery, which is what I like to wear myself.

I have been resistant to try making a Tree of Life pendant for some time, but as my daughter’s birthday is coming up I decided to bite the bullet and do some research.

With much success learning a multitude of techniques on Utube, I turned to my iPad to watch some videos of different styles of making this pendant.

I chose several techniques to style my attempt after, and after several hours I created this nice necklace worthy of giving as a gift.

Pendant and chain

I put it on a long silverplate chain with adjustable closure.

I used a combination of ocean color themed Swarovski, moonstone and semi precious gemstone, 4 to 6 mm beads.

The wire I used was a combination of 18 and 24 g silver anti tarnish artistic wire.

I like to make my necklaces very long, as I like the look mixed with other lengths of chain or necklace.

Now I just need to wrap it up and ship it off to the UK for my daughter’s birthday.

  1. A lovely birthday gift for your daughter to treasure, Anne. I love the colors you used for the tree, and the tiny touch of the matching bead at the end of the chain. I’m sure she will get lots of comments on this beautiful gift.

  3. Very pretty. I am sure she will enjoy wearing it. I would.
