The Heart of Hope Necklace by Nina - featured on Jewelry Making Journal

This piece is made with a Murano heart as the center part, some wire wrapping, and rose quartz.

I used clear Jewelry Wire to put all the components mostly on one side, so it looks like the necklace is hanging on the air.

Also as you can see the clasp is hand made and placed as part of the piece and not hidden in the back.

I made this piece for a good friend of mine who is fighting breast cancer.

She also wears it as an Anchor she can hold on to, when she is afraid or waiting for a test or treatment.

It reminds her that she is a fighter and will always win.

  1. Nina, what a lovely gift of hope and support for your friend. Also a great asymmetrical design, and I like the substantial feel of this necklace, so that the heart can be her anchor. I’m sure it’s very meaningful for her. My prayers for your friend’s recovery and her return to good health.

Oh my gosh. As a cancer survivor, this brings tears to my eyes. I used to bring a tiny stuffed animal to all those doctor appointments and hol it tightly, secretly in my pocket. I was embarrassed. This necklace is so beautiful…and far more “grownup” to hold on to for emotional support. I wish I had one of these gorgeous necklaces back in 1996.

I love your asymmetrical design, the mix of soft pinks, and silver metal. The shiny heart looks so strong, yet feminine. So Beautiful!!!!!

  3. What a lovely way to lend your friend support. I wish her well.
