Sodalite Pendant with Antiqued Copper Wire Frame

I have been procrastinating at attempting to work with Wire Weaving, always finding my efforts not panning out.

On New Year’s Eve, I was traveling alone and so, as I sat at a Starbucks in Abilene, Texas, decided to help fill the night by watching tutorials. I came upon one which looked easy enough for me, the “Elven Gemstone Bead Pendant” from OxanaCraft’s YouTube channel. It stoked my coals of desire, and the next day the embers were still smouldering, so off I went, and this is the completed piece.

I got lost after weaving the sides and forgot how she had made the finishing work come together, so was on my own, but I am happy with the results!

  1. Terrie, I’d never guess this was your first finished wire-woven piece! Very nicely done. I agree, the colors of stone and wire are a good combination. And I love that you forgot how the piece was ended in the lesson, so you came up with your own excellent finish! 🙂

  2. Beautiful work, Terrie!

  3. Very nice work. A stunner for sure.

  4. Don’t we just love YouTube?! And Rena?❤. I think many of us are self taught & thanks to the advancements in technology, we have access to incredible learning opportunities. I was very happy to take Rena’s Wire Jewelry Video class, which is wonderful for beginners.
Your pendant came out beautiful. Your wraps are so neat. You should definitely keep developing your wire wrapping skills. Practice, practice, practice! (That’s what I’m doing right now!).
