Red Jewellery for Christmas

After finishing so much green jewellery, I felt myself wanting to pull out my red materials and make some red pieces for the season (yes, I am a Christmas person! :)).

Red Eyelash Cuff Bracelet
I found the rest of my red eyelash trim that I seem to always want to work with at this time of year. I decided to cover another big cuff bracelet with it, crowning it with a vintage pin and lots of vintage rhinestones embedded in the “eyelashes”. I painted the inside of the vintage acrylic cuff silver, a parting from my usual gold/bronze tones.
I had just a bit of the trim left, and the bound part was damaged, so I cut off the eyelashes (oh, that sounds terrible, doesn’t it?) , combined them with red feathers, a bit of red lace and some sparkle and made some long, lightweight earrings.

Red Eyelash and Feather Earrings
This cameo necklace is made from vintage elements. I bought the frame pendant in a secondhand shop. I didn’t like what was in it, so removed it. The backing is a red flocked material, so I decided to go with red on the front too.
I freshened up the frame by painting it gold, and filled it with red material and lace bits, a focal made from a vintage button, and embellishments. I finished by hanging it from a brass chain.

Red Cameo Necklace
Of course this jewellery isn’t limited to only being worn at Christmas, but it is fun to make it at Christmas! 🙂
