The finished piece

The gorgeous pendant caught my eye and it came with a cheap ribbon to hold it but I wanted to make something a little more substantial.

A close up of the gorgeous pendant.

Thought that Kumihimo might be perfect. The colours of the pendant were echoed in the Kumihimo cords and a rusty gold metallic thread.

The braid was done half way and then the pendant knotted at the back and then the braid picked up on the other side.

It is a dream to wear and I am really happy with the result. A few large holed beads were threaded on for interest.

  1. Annie, what a great find this pendant was! And your kumihimo cord is just perfect for the pendant – it echoes the traditional harlequin colors and diamond patterns. I can see why you love this finished piece. Great job!

  2. This is lovely but can you tell me how you add this half way through a braid. It says the pendant was knotted at the back, how do you do that? I would love to try something similar. It all works so well together. Many thanks. Sue
