Antique Hardware to Pendant

Fifteen plus years ago we purchased an Antique Buffet. The owner stated it was a very early piece from the 1930’s. All of the hardware was missing except for one dangle.
I removed it and placed in my drawer “of many things that I just can’t throw away”. Fast forward…to February 2014.
Having made jewelry for many years, I just recently became inspired to create jewelry using found objects. In one of my trips to a local antique store I began rummaging through a bin of old keys, watches, spoons and then picked up a piece of hardware for a dresser.
Pretty, but large… then it hit me! I have the perfect piece in my drawer at home! Once in my studio, I cleaned the old piece to find it was brass. Using my brass wire I wrapped with agate, crystals, seed beads. I began twirling over and around adding a bail. I like jewelry to have movement so I added a crystal dangle.
Truly one of a kind! Upon wearing to work and receiving compliments and my explaining what it used to be… well…they can’t wait to see what I do next…LOL
