Hammer Time: First Attempt at Hammered Hoop Earrings

When my friend told me that she had seen a huge difference in her work when she invested in a decent hammer, I knew that I should start out with a quality tool as well, and so purchased a Fretz, and a good block as well.

I was so excited to begin using it, and was completely shocked at how light it was in comparison to the hardware store claw hammer in my household tools bin.

I’ve only made a few pieces so far, but these earrings were my first finished piece. As you might notice, there is a huge difference in the end lengths atop the hoops. I was so excited that I didn’t even realize until too far along – hahahah. I still need to make another pair and reshoot my images.

Also, I have started experimenting with a “beyond white background” product photography. I am not happy with any of the images I have so far, as the earrings don’t stand out well enough. Keeping my eyes open to see what works/doesn’t work for others .
