Positive Chunks of Energy Wrap

I was part of corporate America, part of the hustle and bustle in New York City. Loved gems, a consumer of jewelry, this was my dessert after a long week, month of hard work. The irony is when my life turned upside down, my gems became my meal ticket and saved me from a world engulfed by fear, loneliness, and provided me with hope.

Color Bubble Wrap

I have not shared my story in a public forum but those that know me, know I was estranged from family and friends and isolated for a few years. During those years I started taking apart my own jewelry and with the beads and pewter “word” beads that were sent to me I started to create beaded wire wraps. I discovered Etsy, my outlet and distraction and started selling my bracelet wraps online.

My message in each wrap was clear with names like “positive chunks of energy” and beads incorporated into my designs, inscribed were the words hope and love; two things I thought I lost forever. I derived energy from the stones I read about online, each bracelet wrap was not just a design but I incorporated stones that were said to have healing powers, protective gems.

As time passed I strung seed beads one by one; a customer commented, “I like your bracelet wraps I get lost in the patterns and it is like having a new outfit on my wrist.”

Years later I look back at the bracelet wraps and jewelry that represent freedom to me. I am safe. Each bracelet has a story; why so much Turquoise? It happens to be my favorite. 🙂 Still part of corporate America I no longer see jewelry the same way.
