“You are my sunshine”

I was working on some valentine’s pieces and thought I’d like to do something that wasn’t pink or red, but still communicated the romantic sentiment. The old song – You are my sunshine – came to mind and became my inspiration for this necklace.

I used an antique key as the focal point and then stamped the refrain on a painted metal blank ,which did a little chipping that I liked (the old). I combined this with tiny pieces of amber, and two kinds of citrine – rustic chunks on one side of the key, and a faceted gemstone to go with the word charm (the new – sunshine).

I love the effect of using these pieces together.
