Tropical Turquoise Bracelet: Mokume Gane

by Lorraine Vogel.
(Delray Beach, Florida)

This bracelet is made of polymer clay. The turquoise, blue, black and white pattern is created using the mokume gane technique of layering clay, stamping it and then shaving off the stamped impression to reveal a pattern.

The tiles are about 1” x 1-7/8” x 1/4”. It’s my first attempt at this type of bracelet following Melanie Muir’s excellent online tutorial on www.craftcast.com.

It’s pretty chunky, but I’m happy with my first try!

  3. Lovely bracelet – like the colours in it and Mokume Gane is also one of my favourite pc techniques.

  4. Absolutely beautiful in design and finish. I hadn’t seen Mokume in polymer before (am novice). Amazing first attempt. Look forward to your next creation.
