I had a few leftover Swarovski beads, a bit of black leather, 1/4 troy oz. of fine silver wire and a half tin each of two different sized Argentium rings.

I’ve always liked this pattern — the Japanese 12-in-2 flower — and I like the “leather and lace” look in chain-maille. This is the result.

Dramatic Chain Maille
by: Rena

So sleek, dramatic and stylish! No one would ever guess the design was influenced partly by leftovers!

I love this piece – it’s visually simple, but powerful – and obviously great skill went into the making of it.

Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous piece in our “leftover odds and ends” Challenge, Bridgette!

Leather and lace. Sparkle and matte. Silver and black. The contrasts make this necklace so interesting. Beautiful work.
