Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Creations

Now that I’ve moved I’m back to creating, yay! And I recently was given a gift of 2 beautiful drilled Sleeping Beauty Turquoise stones from the exhausted mine in Arizona. I really wanted to make something special from them for myself.

“Butterfly Warming” Necklace
The first necklace I’ve named “If I Could Grow A Turquoise Tree”. 🙂 I had some turquoise chips that I included, as well as golden and brown dyed freshwater pearls and yellow crystals, and a re-purposed golden leaf. A turquoise chip bracelet completes the set.

Turquoise and Crystal Bird’s Nest Necklace
The second necklace is called “Butterfly Warming”. I’m imagining and feeling these beautiful, fashionista butterflies sunning themselves on the warm Sleeping Beauty Turquoise stone , which perfectly enhances their turquoise and teal crystal outfits! A repurposed long golden feather and vintage chain were also used.
As I was going through the chips, I found many that were undrilled, so I refashioned this broken necklace into little nests, and filled them with the blue and green turquoise “eggs” and a couple of crystals, laid of course by this beautiful momma with the crystal wings.

Then I mixed all my leftover turquoise and pearl beads from my projects into a bead soup, and made a 32″ necklace, which can be worn long or wrapped twice, and a multi-strand memory wire bracelet.
I’ve wanted to make up a wardrobe of turquoise jewellery for myself for a long time, and I’ve finally gotten it done, thanks to my new stones!
