Retro-Punk Chained Choker

Looking for inspiration, I searched within a box where I keep unused pieces that I have bought at some point, but still not used, and found these four medallions.

I was trying to create a punk-rock style necklace that could be worn with jeans and a white t shirt or complement a very defined Brit look, so I decided to join the retro-look medallions with different sized chains and a striped lace that I embedded with pointy studs.

My surprise came when I closely observed the different colored medallions and found out they actually are coffee capsules! They have been flattened and decorated with different styled metal coins.

I was amazed; trying to create a retro-styled necklace, I was drawn immediately by the old-style military/uniform look of the medallions, that I later found out where actually created with one of the newest systems of coffee making!

So it is surprising how we can sometimes create different styles and looks with resources we hardly would have thought of. 🙂
