Problem – Bead Bracelets End Up Too Stiff

Problem - Bead Bracelets Ending Up Too Stiff - Discussion on Jewelry Making Journal

I’m having problems with bead bracelets turning out too stiff.

When making an 8″ piece, I have about 7″ of beads, leaving 1″ for the clasp.

This leaves me with a bracelet that is hard to form around my wrist.

If I don’t pull tight, the bracelet’s too loose, so I’m assuming I need to take some beads out.

Is there a general guideline for this? i.e., leave about 0.5- 1″ slack?
