Old Stones + New Skills = First Wire Woven Heart

2014 is a year when I have so many plans and dreams to take my jewelry making skills to new levels.

My sterling silver heart with Amethyst and Pearls

I am bursting with enthusiasm, I have wonderful inspirational resources to learn from, I am fortunate to be able to use good materials in my jewelry making adventures.

The only thing that I don’t have enough of is free time. But hey, you can’t have it all, right? So I am trying to work whenever I can, and I am grateful for that, too.

Back to my submission. This is my silver heart I created with totally new to me wire coiling and weaving techniques.

I used Amethyst beads, and a lovely Pearl that I owned for quite a while now, even from before I even considered making jewelry myself. I guess I can call it an OLD something in my design. Normally I use only new materials, but for this I sacrificed a part of my favorite jewelry possessions.

So, a NEW technique, and OLD Pearl, and a result I am very satisfied with.
