My Spirit Guided Me

The Southwestern Style necklace was originally made to be a set of sandals but my customer felt they looked too heavy and not her style.

Southwestern Style
I made American Indian styles jewelry when I was younger and this just came out of me.

So I posted this on Facebook and it took off like wildfire! I received 4 requests.
One request was for a set (sandals and the necklace), 1 request for just the sandals (modified length), 1 request for the necklace version 2 (not posted here), and the last request for the original necklace version.
I used medium brown sueded leather, silver plated tubes and feathers, turquoise blue dyed howlite, silver plated spacers, and mixed metal medallions.
I first used nylon bead string but I did not like the scratchy feel and used simulated sinew to string the beads and secure.
The other sandals are made with parachute cord and blue dyed howlite, glass beads, wood beads, and nylon string.
The last sandal, Green Mood, was requested by a friend for something green.

Sandals Green Mood
I used tan parachute cord, shell beads, green glass and crystal beads, silver plated tubes on ends to finish. I used simulated sinew again.

I’m still learning techniques as I go along.
Every project is a new adventure and a learning experience.
I’m a paralegal by trade but was done with that.
Going to see an old favorite rock and roll band inspired me to be who I really am and do what I enjoy.
