Leopard Jasper Pendant

by Barbara Jacquin.

Some stones just don’t fit into a mold. This leopard jasper fascinated me and challenged me to invent an interesting setting.

I always try to respect the integrity of a stone and not contradict it by forcing it into a set, predictable and often boring framework. What to do! Just a simple bezel, a wire over the top, and an open back.

Result: A minimalist setting which allows the jasper to bulge where it wants to, bend when it feels like it, feel comfortable with natural fabrics and subtle colors, and show off a pretty neckline with the versatility of wearing it vertically or horizontally due to the two separate bails.

What better way to appreciate nature!
