Hairpin Turns Ahead Necklace
I was inspired to create my statement necklace after seeing an editorial page in Vogue Magazine.

my statement in mixed metals
I love to hammer metal into submission; and mixed metal jewelry is all the rage these days! So I used 12, 14, and 16 gauge 14kt goldfilled wire to create my “hairpins” -so satisfying pounding my wire; although my husband’s ears are probably still ringing!
I acquired big, beautiful faceted hollow sterling silver beads, and alternated the sizes that I slipped onto my hammered shapes; then hammered some more to flare the gold to keep my beads in place.
Using sterling jump rings to link my components, including the shaped neck pieces; I fastened it all with my own forged hook and enough chain to adjust.

the finishing touch
I always add a finishing touch-a charm or gem-to the chain end; gotta look good coming…and going!
I love the result; its got movement and an offhand vibe! Quirky, like me!
