I have been wanting to play around with making some pendants using dominos. Here are some of the examples I have completed. The pictures are not as clear as I would like them but you can get the idea.
I used both plastic and wooden dominos. First I drilled a hole to thread wire through once finished. The domino was covered with alcohol ink that was heat set.
Then each was covered with either brown pattern paper or white tissue paper, which was given a layer of glue.
I applied images, words or embellishments to the front of the dominos. On the backs I stamped some with a word stamp, some I added my own wording, others I just left the domino show.
I am going to shrink some of my mixed media paintings down to size to also use on some pendants. When dried, they were stamped with distress inks, heat set and sealed with an acrylic varnish.
When the domino was completely dried, I threaded copper wire through the hole to make a loop bail. This was then given a quick dip in Liver of Sulfur, rinsed and buffed.
I really liked Rena’s tutorial on the adjustable wire necklace with the chain, so I made a few of these to hang the pendants from, others have an adjustable leather necklace .
