Bringing Broken Jewelry Back to Life

the broken lanyard received
My business cards read “customer orders welcome”. So naturally I receive requests from time to time about repairing old jewelry a customer has had sitting around. These orders are fun since it is something different!
I also remember the days when I used to have busted pieces in my jewelry box and not knowing how to restore them.
This time a customer sent me an old beloved lanyard to bring back to life. It was missing a couple of the focal beads so I worked the beads in an asymmetrical fashion.

the lanyard now ready to be worn
My wire of choice is 49 strand with a .024 inch width for these heavily worn pieces so I used 6/0 seed beads instead of the 11/0 in the original. Plus I don’t have the patience for 11/0!
The customer and myself were pleased with the results. I hope she gets many years of use out of it.
