Blessing Bracelet

I had a bag of drilled sea glass nuggets and wanted to create a summer beachy bracelet with the glass and leather. I had little experience in leather or knotting etc… but thought I could figure something out.

CBernloehr: Blessing Bracelet 1

I ended up with a knotted 2-strand piece that required no tools. (only clippers or scissors to trim the leather cord)

I call this my “Blessing Bracelet” because I use 7 stones. This way, I can think of my blessings each day of the week.

I used 36″ of 1.5mm leather cord with large hole beads. I folded it in half and tied an overhand knot to make the catch loop. Then I tied a knot on a single cord, about 1/2″ from the loop and slid the bead on tying another knot to secure the bead. I tied 2 more beads on the same cord, each about 1/2″ apart.

Then I took the other cord and tied a knot in the middle. (the knot should line up with where you ended on the first cord.) Then I tied three beads on the second cord about 1/2″ apart. When you hold the two cords together the beads look like they go all the way across.

Then I tied an overhand knot with BOTH cords securing them together and slid the last bead on a single cord. Then knotted both cords together at the end.

This makes the toggle of the clasp. Trim off the excess ends and wear your creation to the beach or just under the stars and don’t forget to Count Your Blessings each day.
