African Suns

When I saw these large carved yellow jade medallions, I just had to have them. They reminded me so much of my time in Ghana, west Africa. I had no idea what I would do with them, but kept them until I might find just the right stones to go with them. Then I found them!

I was SO excited when I saw these beautiful verdite beads. They were a perfect match for the yellow medallions, and in this group of beads the colors are particularly nice. The medallions are 60mm and the verdite beads are 25mm long.

I used antiqued copper spacer beads. This is one heavy necklace, so it is not an every-day piece. This is my showcase piece, though I don’t sell publicly very often.

Chocolate and Cherries

The second piece I call Chocolate and Cherries. I love red, and the red glass beads just drew me.

Then I saw the barrels. Big and chunky is just the way I like it, though I make everything from elegant strands to my favorite funky-chunky pieces, and love collars, such as this third image “Egyptian Collar”.

This one sold almost before I could display it. I love it! Simple size 6 beads and black twisted tube beads netted into a collar.

The fourth image I love because though it is large and chunky, it is still sweet.

I call it “Pink and Blue Heaven”. The pink beads are man-made, and the blue stones look like Rhodonite, except they are blue. They are too refined to be dyed lava rock, so I am not quite sure what they are. The cameo is a modern purchase.

Egyptian Collar

These are just 4 of my favorite pieces, though it was hard to choose. I hope at least one of them is interesting to you.

I totally love your newsletter, Rena, and appreciate you so much. Every time I meet another jewelry maker I make sure they know about you!

Unfortunately, I do not yet have a website (but coming up soon, I hope).

Again, thank you Rena, for all you do.
