I wanted to make something fun, fast, and really original using this year’s Pantone color – especially since I actually LOVE this bright cheerful shade of green.

It is not too often that I use such big (5/8 inch across) glass beads in making earrings: they can get heavy too easily.

So I looked around to see what low-weight/high-strength material(s) I could use to bring the whole vision together.

And what I found was 25lb. strength GREEN nylon fishing cord! YES!

I doubled the cord, knotted it under each bead-pair, and double crazy-glued the knots.

Super strong and super light.

And I really love the way the nylon cord makes the beads fall in somewhat random fashion – it gives the earrings a kind of whimsical carefree feel, which is how I feel when Spring comes along.
