Easter “Grace” Necklace

Yesterday I got the idea of stitching words on pieces of lace to include in my designs. I just had to try it before I went to bed last night, so I cut a little piece of aqua lace, grabbed some light purple embroidery floss (because I love that combination, especially during the Easter season) and free-handedly stitched “Grace” on it, without writing the word on the lace first. I didn’t want the writing to look too perfect.

This morning I started incorporating it into a design. I glued the small piece with the writing onto a larger piece of lace to hide the back of the stitches, then embellished the lace with silver glitter and crystals. Then I added the violets and simple mauve glass pearls. I have matching violet earrings, but they didn’t make it into the picture. I took this picture quickly because someone wanted to see it, so I thought I would send it off here too.
