I recently saw a body necklace online, and knew that I had to include them in my line of jewelry.

I went upstairs and immediately went to see what I had on hand that I could make one with. I found enough pearl chain if I combined some different sizes, and added in some plain silver chain. Then I found the teale lace piece, which I cut from a top I had put aside.

I decided to do lace on lace, because of the size of the “pendant” (5 1/2″ long), in order to fill in the space easier. I cut the little flowers, adhered them, and embellished my pendant. Then I attached the chains, tried the necklace on, and adjusted it until I got a good length.

I also made matching pearl earrings from the largest pearl in the necklace.

When I look at this, it looks like African Violets, and the teale reminds me of beautiful water, so I named this necklace “Water Violets”.

I wasn’t sure what to use to photograph this on, because I don’t have a mannequin bust. Eventually I thought of my garden angel, resting in the family room over the winter. That worked. She looked a little pale though, I think from being downstairs all that time, so I did her make-up! Much better! Because she’s a garden angel, I named her Gardenia.

I figured if she was going to model, she needed a name. If she’s going to model regularly, she may have to stay inside this summer (otherwise she’ll ruin her make-up!). 🙂

This is the the other side of my “Water Violets” pendant. I didn’t intend to embellish this side that much, but I just seemed to need to keep adding more and more violets! In the end, I think it might be my favourite side.

Instead of the purple crystals I used on the first side, this time I used turquoise ones. I like there to be harmony between the two sides when I do reversible jewellery, but a bit of a difference in colour and/or style so the piece is more versatile for the wearer.

On this side, it looks like the violets have floated together into a pretty little group! 🙂
