Upcycled Tree Bark Necklace

This challenge gave me the inspiration for my necklace. I had gathered pieces of tree bark after a storm had knocked a large branch from our oak tree.

I had saved them for a reason but at the time did not know why. When I read the challenge I knew I would be using one of those barks. I coated the bark with mod podge to seal it and give it a bit of a polish look.

Looked around for the rest of my materials wanting to keep the look very rustic. Came across some left over landscaping tubing, a piece of red leather and a leftover raw coral bead and some brass end cups.

I wired the bead, leather and bark together around the tubing, glued the end cups and wore it that evening to dinner!
