Copper tone dagger necklace #1

Copper tone dagger necklace #1

I became addicted to the beaded Kumihimo technique back in 2011. Some of my designs have evolved from patterns seen on the Internet and others from classes taken in the past.

The place I used to “haunt” on a regular basis unfortunately closed due to the owner’s sudden death and I’ve had to rely on other media to feed my habit.

The dagger design is one that intrigued me and is somewhat similar to a cluster necklace design I had done in the distant past. My former teacher, mentor and fellow bead addict have been corresponding long distance since she moved out of state.

This necklace features Czech glass “daggers” or “spears” in a copper tone with harmonizing Miyuki 8/0 seed beads.

I have an idea to use the same color daggers but with more electric blue in the seed bead area. I think the necklace gives off a more earthy or tribal look to it.
