Ocean Blue Necklace
by Erin Fligel.
Back during all of the snow that we had up here in NY, I was wishing so much for it to be summer. I kept thinking of bright blue skies and a sunny beach. These blue beads reminded of the sky of a summer sunny day.
I strung the bright blue round beads onto beading wire alternating with navy blue seed beads. The shiny silver chain made the necklace really pop and give it that summer feel that I was looking for.
As for me, jewelry making is something that I started doing about a year ago. I really wanted a statement necklace, but every time I looked at one I would think to myself that I can make that (I have always been very crafty). So I just decided that I would experiment and make myself a necklace.
I fell in love with the process and the result. The positive feedback I received didn’t hurt either. I started making more necklaces for my self and others as gifts. The jewelry making process became such a nice stress reliever for me. I can get lost in beads for hours.
Everyone kept telling me that I should try selling my jewelry, so I took a leap of faith this past winter and opened an Etsy shop: Erin Lauren Jewelry. This is something that I absolutely love to do and getting to share it with others is the biggest reward of all.
