Mended Heart Necklace: Pewter Winged Heart

by Sharon Harris.
(Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA)

I’ve had a couple of these pewter winged heart pendants around for a long time just waiting for an idea to develop about what to do with them. Tourmaline is one of my favorite gemstones and it seemed to go well with the pewter.

The other two metal beads are Sterling and I thought they would compliment the pendant nicely with their texture and Lily of the Valley flower pattern. I really wanted my photos of this piece to reflect how pretty it is.

I start thinking about how I’m going to photograph a piece as I’m making it. The background feathers are part of a Hair decoration I recently purchased, but I haven’t had the place (or the nerve) to wear it yet. You just never know what you might already have that will make a great creative background for your jewelry…Raku pots, glass figurines, bottles, leaves, even a flat spot on your deck might work.

Happy Summer to Everyone,

Sharon
