Kumihimo and Glass Necklace

Red, white, black kumihimo necklace
I created the pendant first.
This is a piece of black glass on the bottom, a piece of clear glass with a white streak, and piece of red glass on top.
I fused it until it all melted together and then I added the glued on bail.

Red, white, black glass cabachon
I didn’t have any ideas for using it right away, so it went in my pile off glass cabochons.
Several months later I wanted to learn how to make a square kumihimo braid.
I was going to use the black satin cord, but that seemed kind of drab, so I added a strand of red and a strand of white to bundle. Glued on end caps with a hook and loop closure completed the braid.

I was looking for something to hang from the braid and was looking through my cabochon stash and found the red, white and black piece of glass. A perfect fit!
It is a longer necklace than most I make and looks great on a red or black t-shirt.
