I had been feeling a little in the box with my creations and with work. Out of ideas for an original way to change up my displays too.

Big and Bold Red Statement Necklace

What a great way to kick-start the old brain; challenges to do something I wouldn’t normally do. I used this to really challenge myself to find items already at home. I came up with three pieces.

Big and Bold Red Statement Necklace – A closer look

The first is brightly bold red necklace. I used old speaker wire and an old pair of red jeans that were already cut for another project from years ago. (Yes, I keep things for years.) The silver baubles are from a stash of bits a friend had given me.

I hand crocheted the speaker wire and strips of fabric using a large size hook. It took me all of 5 minutes. It’s not my style of jewelry for wearing, but wow, I think it turned out pretty good.
