It’s Time: New Jewelry from Antique Clock Keys

I was in Columbus OH, (I live in FL) visiting my best friend of 30+ years and we went to a antiques mall.

clock key necklace
I love digging around in all the areas and wasn’t looking for anything in paticular, but was intrigued by a ring of old keys I saw. I took the ring up to the man in charge and he asked me “which key do you want?” to which I replied, “all of them”.
He looked shocked and asked what I was going to do with so many keys. I told him I wasn’t sure but would let him know.
I got home and found these ceramic beads in different shapes and colors. I thought they complimented the old Grandfather Clock Keys so I went to work.
I really liked the effect and sent a picture of the necklace to the man I had bought the keys from.
He liked it so much that he called me to order a similar necklace for his wife. He said he had never bought an item back that he had sold from his store but this was too good to pass up.
I ended up making 4 of these necklaces. 1 for me, 1 for the store manager and 2 to sell. I sold one to a young lady who is a local model for an upcoming photo shoot, and the last to a woman visiting from London.

Modeling the clock key
This is still one of my favorite pieces.
