Believe Souvenir Penny Earrings

When I travel, I love to squish pennies! The majority of amusement parks and attractions have souvenir penny machines – 2 quarters and a shiny penny will get you a lightweight, unique piece of memorabilia.

Squished pennies make unique jewelry!

My husband and I have annual passes to Sea World in San Diego and a few years ago, they featured this Shamu Believe design. I made sure to press out two, so that I could create earrings.

I added bright blue faceted glass beads with a copper bead cap and copper ear wires for a very personal fashion statement.

You might not think a penny could be this pretty!

Here’s my best tip for working with souvenir pennies: study the design to make sure there’s enough space within the design to make the holes (I use a metal hole punch).

Some designs go all the way to the edges. Then just use your imagination for earrings, bracelets and pendants!
