Asymmetrical Sight Glass Necklace

I love my dogs, but they have a bad habit of digging in the yard. Normally, nothing good comes of their digging, but recently they uncovered this unusual fitting.

Once it was cleaned, it turned out to be solid brass with a lovely weathered patina and a glass center that had turned iridescent with exposure.

My husband says it is a sight glass from an old hot water heater or something like that.

A beautiful piece, I have surrounded it with dark green striped and light dendritic jasper coin beads, handcrafted brass square links, and sections of brass cable chain.

The necklace is 24 inches long with a hook closure and a simple chain extender ending with a lagniappe coin bead.
