An Emerald In The Rough

My newest creation – over 60 carats of raw emerald complimented with stainless steel wire, silver plate bead and finished with a silver tone chain.

I had some raw emeralds from a previous sift, pan and search event and decided to clean some of the dirt and sand from them. After a couple of hours in a tumbler soap bath, I looked through all my clean stones. This particular stone stood out to me so I began thinking how I could create a pendant necklace from this beauty.

I drilled the stone, created a decorative bail with stainless steel wire and silver plate bead then finished with a silver tone chain. I have worn this necklace many times and it just feels good on the body.
