A Thing of Beauty

A thing of beauty is a joy forever

Funny thing about this necklace. I made each of the components separately just because I wanted to experiment with different techniques. There is right angle weave, circular right angle weave, fringing, and circular brick stitch pieces.

And, I was really getting off on the color combination. Did you ever have one of those experiences where you are loving certain colors so much you just can’t stop!!

It will never pass into nothingness

Well, I emerged from my bead room after a full day at it and then the next night attached all the separate parts into this composition.

But still will keep

The fringe beads were actually a mistake because I did not read the directions properly. So, never one for rework, I decided to use them as connectors.

Anyway, when I saw the final product I just thought of Keats and that fantastic poem “A Thing of Beauty.”

A joy forever

Rich and interesting color palette, and I love your lines of Keats’ poem as the photo captions.

Neat detail of the dangle at the end of the chain. Altogether captivating!

Wow!

This CLEARLY took time and talent, and it IS an absolute thing of beauty! Absolutely GORGEOUS!

Unusual Colours
by: SterlingCrystal

Terri, this is an unusual colour combination that really drew me in. I can’t believe the fringe beads were a mistake – they do a great job of breaking up the really solid components of the necklace, as they are light and airy, and a different shape to the general theme of the necklace. Congratulations.
