Hi Jo, thanks for asking! Generally when jewelry artists use tape on their pliers, they wrap one layer of tape around the plier jaws, to cushion against the sharp edges of the pliers. Also, most jewelry artists I know who use tape, tend to use the blue painter’s masking tape available in hardware / home improvement stores.
