I tested the “x 6” this morning on a shorter pin and it was just about right, although another inch or so would have made it easier to finish. To give myself some wiggle room for next time, I would say x 6 plus 2”. The actual needed length will vary depending on the size of the base you are wrapping on, the size of the beads, tightness of wraps. But, for this, x6+2 should work!

Hi Linda, thank you! I used 24 gauge wire, and I think those are 6/0 seed beads. I wish I had a formula, but I really just wing it. With these, the first time I tried with 24” of wire, and did not have enough to get all the way around. So, I tried again with 30”, which was just right. The length of the beaded section on these pins is 5” – so that suggests that with the way I wrap seed beads, I could multiply the length times 6 and be pretty close. I will test it out!
